Hey Annie, this piece is my first time reading your work, and all I can say is your son is so incredibly lucky to have you as his mom. I hope you can hear these two things:

1) if you did NOT have 18,000 to pay for treatment, that would not impact any of your reader's lives for the better, so feeling guilty for being resourced in this moment of crisis serves no one.

2) I experienced more mothering in simply READING this article than I have in my entire adult life.

I hear you didn't want to write this article, but I'm glad you did. The ripple effect of the safe space and support in healing you provided for your son is far-reaching.

I hope treatment helped him, and I hope your entire family is the stronger for it.
