I appreciate you writing this so much. This is the very first time I've seen in print my internal experiences I know to be true. I was one of the first in the country (United States) diagnosed with CFS in 1989, when the disease was established. I was 14 and spent the better part of 6 years homebound. Then I met a counselor educated in the effects of mind/body trauma and the specific ways I was abused, and within 10 sessions with her I went from bedridden most the time to working part-time. I have spent the last 30 years exploring healing from complex childhood trauma and the ways it effected me physically. It's GREAT to learn others are making the connection re: CFS and abuse. I genuinely feel like most, if not all, could find lasting healing from addressing the buried issues that abuse causes. Thank you for doing your part to bring this wisdom more to light.
