Oh my god, those dogs are gonna be the death of me. Seriously, forget brain tumors. Screw cancer. My obituary will say I was driven to my grave by the incessant pitter-pattering of 16 paws stampeding back and forth all day, every day, on the floor above me. If my upstairs neighbors hadn’t already heard my daily crying, I’m certain their pack of four canines would make them aware. At first, I cried quietly, like I did at home to shield it from Lys and Ajaya. Now there was no one to hide from, so I let myself wail. Dear god, was that a mistake. The upstairs pack came barreling across their floor- my ceiling- halting to a stop directly above me, their chorus of howls attaching to my cries. Sixteen paws dug at their floor, trying to get through to save me. They thought I was a wounded animal needing help. Which I was.
Eat, sleep, cry, wonder why, repeat.
