This entire article hurts to read. The issue never was the wife- the issue is unresolved trauma the man carries from his abuse. To put it in really basic terms, he could say, I was abused by a Pisces, therefore I will never allow a Pisces to get close to me again. Denying himself a lifetime of connections with individuals who share this same trait does absolutely nothing to resolve the original injury. Shifting the focus and/or the blame onto the wife is so many kinds of wrong, I lost count- sexist and body-shaming for starters. This man needs to work with a trauma informed therapist and stop holding other people hostage by the same pain he's held by.
